The 1999 Skybox E-X Century football set continued in the footsteps of its predecessors with yet another ambitious and technologically advanced release. The cards featured a striking chromium finish with distinctive holographic patterns and geometric designs characteristic of the E-X Century brand. The set also offered another round of coveted Essential Credentials cards. Essential Credentials Now issues such as this Barry Sanders had additional silver foil printing elements and serial numbering that corresponded with the card’s spot on the checklist. Thus, Sanders’ #30 has a print run /30. The aesthetic of the card, which pairs beautifully with Barry’s Lions uniform, Sanders’ stature as one of the all-time greats both on the field and in the eyes of football card collectors, that /30 print run, and PSA 10 slab combine to make this an essential addition to any football collection. PSA has only assessed three examples of this rarity, with this offering one of two to earn that Gem Mint designation.
