After debuting to incredible fanfare in football and basketball releases, the now-iconic Precious Metal Gems parallel made its way to the diamond in the 1998 Metal Universe release. And while basketball and football collectors had a shot at triple-digit print runs in the years prior, baseball fans were treated to a tougher chase, with each PMG carrying a print run of just /50.
Few players whose cards received the signature full-foil PMG treatment in the ‘98 Metal Universe set are more beloved by collectors than Derek Jeter.
