2012-13 Fleer Retro marked the first time that Precious Metal Gems, arguably the most coveted parallels of all-time, in a hockey release. Modelled after the orignal PMGs from 1997-98 Metal Universe Basketball, 60 of the NHL's top stars and rookies appeared on the checklist. PMGs parallel the Fleer Retro's Metal Universe inserts with each card getting /100 Red, /50 Blue and /10 Green versions. This Sidney Crosby is one of the latter. This is one of the top cards ever made for the Penguins icon.
This Precious Metal Gems Green card provides plenty of pop thanks to its edge-to-edge foil treatment. It's so bright that it almost glows. Like the original PMGs, this can make finding top-grade cards challenging. This NM 7 is a pop 1 in the PSA census with none ranking higher.
