After the NBA granted Panini exclusive licensing rights to produce NBA cards in 2009, one popular aspect of the market disappeared – chromium cards. Between brands like Topps Chrome, Bowman Chrome, and Finest, basketball card collectors had at least one chromium choice every year from 1993 to 2008. Panini brought chromium style back into the industry four years into its journey as a mainstream basketball card producer by introducing Panini Prizm in 2012. The follow-up to that breakthrough set offered up even more possibilities – and brought collectors Giannis’ iconic Prizm rookie card. This month’s Premier Auction features a BGS 9.5 example of Giannis’ coveted 2013 Panini Prizm /10 Gold Prizm rookie card. Only two parallels from the Bucks superstar’s full rainbow of 2013 Prizms have more scarcity than this sparkling Gold Prizm (the Black Prizm and Black Mosaic Prizm, both 1/1s), as Panini upped the number of parallels from three to 11 for the second-year set.
This is the only BGS-graded example with two 10-rated subgrades, and no example has been graded higher by the service.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 10/09/24.
